Objectives:
The aim of this article is to analyze the role of criminal profiling as a tool supporting the crime detection process and to present the experiences and opinions of expert practitioners regarding the effectiveness and limitations of this method.

Material and methods:
This study utilizes expert assessment methods, drawing on a qualitative analysis of in-depth interviews with specialists in criminal profiling and law enforcement. A thematic content analysis was conducted to identify core findings related to the practical use of profiling techniques.

Results:
Experts emphasize that criminal profiling provides significant support in identifying offender characteristics and guiding investigative actions. At the same time, they highlight the need to combine this method with other investigative techniques, as well as challenges related to subjectivity and limited empirical foundations.

Conclusions:
The analysis indicates that criminal profiling has the potential to enhance the effectiveness of crime detection, but its success depends on appropriate use and integration with other tools. This points to the necessity of further research as well as the development of standardization and training in this field.
