ABSTRACT
Objectives:
The aim of this work is to present optimal standards for managing participants at mass events, including an overview of ,,best practices" applied in European countries that can also be implemented in Poland.
Material and methods:
For the purposes of the research, a content analysis of scientific, industry, and legal materials was conducted. Using a diagnostic survey method, a series of interviews were carried out with representatives of domestic and foreign entities involved in ensuring the safety of sporting events.
Results:
The conclusions drawn from the research indicate that several factors influence
the effectiveness of crowd management, including: planning and preparation, space management, communication, security services, technology, emergency situations, and international cooperation.
Conclusions:
The main element of safety at international sporting events is crowd management. This
is a complex process that requires the application of various strategies and tools, and its effectiveness is crucial for the safety and comfort of participants at international sporting events. Properly planned and organized events will help minimize the risk of potential threats, ensure a smooth course of the event, and thus positively impact the comfort and satisfaction of the participants.
