Lifelong Learning means a comprehensive education – formal, non – formal and informal learning – including effects such as: knowledge, skills and competences. In the process of lifelong learning fits also widely understood environmental education, the implementation of which have a significant impact on environmental awareness. Accomplishment of environmental education has a significant influence on shaping an environmental awareness. Such oriented education aims to create individual and social attitudes, behaviors or pro-environmental actions, thus increasing the chance to counteract of real threats to the social and natural environment. The article shows the importance of environmental education in the process of building social awareness, including the perspective of learning throughout life
