ABSTRACT
Objectives:
Presentation of the sense of professional prestige in social professions from the perspective of social workers

Material and methods:
The research was conducted in the positivist trend. The research was conducted using a diagnostic survey method, and the data collection tool was a questionnaire created by the author for the needs of the study. The material from 150 social workers was analyzed.

Results:
The results were presented in the form of graphs with descriptions. And the material was analyzed and discussed

Conclusions:
The results of the conducted research show that professional prestige is determined by factors such as: remuneration, opportunities for professional advancement, opportunities to improve qualifications and acquire new competences during training, respect from the professional environment and society, as well as media and social image. The respondents assess the prestige of the profession they perform as low and very low. According to the respondents, the factors that shape prestige are primarily: remuneration, image in the media and high competences, understood as the scope of knowledge, skills and attitude. According to the surveyed social workers, the activities that could increase the prestige of the social worker profession are: a positive media image and improvement of the social worker's social image, appointment of a spokesperson for professional responsibility and social work ethics, and increase in salaries. Prestige is also associated with respect, attractiveness, and development, which representatives of the profession cannot count on.
