Objectives: The aim of this publication is to introduce the phenomenon of quiet quitting in the context of teachers' work, to identify its causes and possible consequences both for educators themselves and for the whole education system, and to try to find potential solutions to help counteract this phenomenon.
Material and methods: Artykuł prezentuje wyniki badania ankietowego przeprowadzonego wśród 229 polskich nauczycieli w pierwszej połowie 2025 roku.
Results: Quiet quitting is a structural and growing phenomenon. It may result from teachers being overworked and overburdened, but also from a failure to adapt working conditions to current educational challenges and the expectations of pupils and their parents.
The phenomenon of teacher quitting contributes to a decline in the quality of education, a decline in the employment of young and innovation-oriented teachers, the deterioration of teachers' relations with pupils' parents and, in the long term, increases the risk of teachers leaving the profession.
Conclusions: 1. it is necessary to improve the working conditions of teachers
2. a reduction of bureaucracy in establishments is desirable
3. mental health support for teachers is also needed
4. a transparent system of professional development and a clear career path is also needed
5. it is also important to build a community and culture of cooperation in Polish schools
